So, we all went to the Sunny Jim Cave Store today. One of my earliest memories is of being 3 years old going down the endless steps into the cave. It is actually an old house from the 1920 or 30s. Someone actually built a door in it that leads to a tunnel. The tunnel goes down really steep old rickety rotting wooden steps.
At the bottom of it it opens up into a cave. It is just a little too short for a grown man to walk in. So I had to walk bending down. One of the kids thought it was a little bit scary. They both did great going down. When we got to the bottom it opens up and the sun comes in and the waves crash against the rocks.
I heard a chirping sound and I looked over to the side. I never saw the chirping birds, but I did see a nest full of eggs which was really weird because it was in a damp dark cave down on the ground next to the walkway.
There were a bunch of pigeons inside and a little bit of pigeon poop, but all in all a spectacular experience.
When you get to the very top they give you a free plastic toy out of the basket. One of the toys we got was penguin and the other little girl got a marlin, but unfortunately marlin is gone and sailed away.
